Choir Corner ![]() for amber waves of grain. America, America, God shed His grace on thee. This is one of those rare July 4th ‘s that falls on a Sunday and I hope to sing America. As you all know, Samuel Ward and Katherine Lee Bates were the composers of this hymn. But mark Hayes has made it into a wonderful arrangement. I hope Joyce Mcneil will once again join me on the keyboard by playing Festival of Freedom, a patriotic medley by Paul Lavender. On Sunday, June 27th, Joyce McNeil will start the summer schedule of solos and ensembles with You Raise Me Up by Loveland and Graham. This has been sung by so many artists, but no one does it more beautifully than Joyce. You can look forward to solos and ensembles every Sunday during summer, but no responses; choir has the summer off. Now, as a personal note, I’ve experienced a small stroke. It has affected my speech and my playing somewhat, but the doctors agree I’ll regain most of that ability with God’s grace. Yours in Song, Pat Cotsakis, Director of Music ![]() |
